Common Coaching FAQs
-
Coaching is a collaborative process that empowers individuals to clarify goals, overcome obstacles, and enhance overall life satisfaction. Our coaching services focus on personal and professional development, helping you achieve balance, fulfilment, and success in various aspects of your life.
-
The primary goal of coaching is to support you in navigating changes, situations, and/or areas of personal or professional development identified during our sessions. Specific aims and objectives will be established in our initial meeting and periodically reviewed to ensure the coaching remains aligned with your evolving needs. The flexibility of coaching allows us to adapt our focus based on your priorities at different points in time.
-
Cognitive coaching focuses on the mind to explore thought patterns, beliefs, and cognitive processes. It often uses written exercises and conversation to explore hopes, fears and goals. This method aims to identify and change unproductive thought patterns, fostering positive and lasting personal growth. Somatic coaching is centred on the mind-body connection, recognising that physical sensations and movements are integral to emotional and mental well-being. Our somatic coaching approach combines mindfulness, body awareness, and movement practices to help individuals & groups address stress, trauma, and improve overall wellness and connection. It complements cognitive coaching by integrating physical experiences into the coaching process.
-
Coaching sessions typically involve open and confidential conversations between you and the coach. The goal is to provide a supportive space for self-discovery and personal growth. Each session will typically commence with us identifying and agreeing on areas to focus on during that session. To maximise the effectiveness of our sessions, your commitment to being motivated and prepared is helpful. This involves having an idea of what you want to work on, updating on recent developments, and providing feedback on any completed tasks or action plans (if applicable). Based on your specific needs and circumstances the coach will invite participation in tools and exercises from across cognitive and somatic approaches.
-
Each coaching session is specifically tailored to your needs. For each exercise or tool, your coach will invite participation and you can determine if/how you would like to progress.
-
The duration of coaching varies based on individual needs and goals. Some clients achieve significant progress in a few sessions, while others may choose to engage in longer-term coaching for ongoing support. The frequency and length of sessions are flexible and can be discussed and adjusted based on your preferences and progress.
-
Coaching sessions are offered either face to face or online allowing for a convenient and accessible format. Face to face sessions can be conducted at our private coaching studio situated just outside of Amsterdam or in another jointly agreed public location.
